What I Ate Wednesday

What I Ate Wednesday

Last weekend had prepped me for a healthy eating week and grabbing hold of my goals and accomplishing them! As previously said I love healthy foods so being healthy is something that comes easy to me although I do love the occasional cheat meal which (I secretly look forward to).

These past few days I have discovered some new finds. I have been excited to try them out and of course share them with you! I have been on the hunt for some new healthy foods that will help boost my metabolism and re-vamp my eating routine. I am now totally converted to these new foods and I am super excited to start experimenting with them!

All links will be stated at the bottom of the blog post as to where you can find these items.

1st – Total Greek Yoghurt 0% Fat.

I was originally drawn to this yoghurt due to reading such good reviews on it. I have always loved the flavoured yoghurts crammed full of sugar, which taste extremely good but don’t offer the greatest benefits. This new yoghurt I have tried is packed full of protein, fat free and suitable for diabetics and vegetarians!  It is thick and creamy. The yoghurt works perfectly combined with granola and fruit or can be used in savoury dishes such as salad dressings and curry’s. How lush!

Ingredients:

Pasteurised Skimmed Cows' Milk, Live Active Yoghurt Cultures (L. Bulgaricus, S. Thermophilus, L. Acidophilus, Bifidus, L. Casei).

Per 100g:

57kcal, 10.3g protein, 4g Carbohydrate, 0g fat.

Definitely converted to this yoghurt now! Not forgetting you can also drizzle honey over the top to add that extra big of sweetness.

2nd Meridian Almond Butter – What a beautiful creation!

I am still excited to experiment with this amazing find. Recently I have been adding it to my porridge in the morning to give me that little bit extra energy and flavour. Suggestions for recipes: have on crackers and crumpets, add to shakes and add to cakes and bakes. When creating my liquid mixture for my granola I have also been combining some almond butter for extra nutty flavour, such a perfect combination. They have various different flavours in the nut butters so it is definitely worth checking out their website!

Ingredients:

Organic Roasted Almonds (100%) – How amazing! 1 ingredient, completely natural.

Dietary Attributes:

Milk free, Egg free, Wheat free, Gluten free, Soy free, Fish free, Shellfish free, Sulphites free, Celery free, Mustard free, Lupin free, Mollusc free, Yeast free, Refined sugar free, Organic, Free from GMOS, Free from added artificial colourings, preservatives and flavourings. Suitable for vegetarians and vegans! Absolutely amazing if you ask me.

These two new finds have definitely changed my eating routine slightly and they are super yummy too!

I am so glad I have a positive outlook on food now and I am no longer afraid to build muscle and put on weight. I have recently reached a goal, which was to put on more weight to become healthy, happy and strong. The goal was set last year and it seemed so far away at one point. I try not to weigh myself due to muscle weighing a lot more than fat so the weighing scales can be deceiving. I go by appearance, feeling strong and lifting the heavier weights.

I have gone from being 7stone, skipping meals and worshipping cardio to 8stone 9lbs, this is a huge accomplishment and I am extremely proud of how far I have come. Excited to update my journey as I meet more of my goals! Have faith in yourself; take small steps and your goal will soon be reached.

When goals are set they feel so far away. Occasionally we all feel like giving up but we have to think about the long-term effects and the sense of achievement at the end of the journey. It is totally worth it. Keep on striving for progress not perfection!

Why not have a nosey at some of my meals I have been eating this week.

Home made chicken and vegetable soup! My mum knows how to cook.

Fruit juices pick me up any time throughout the day. Full of fruit and vegetables.

Has my new Victoria Secret leggings helped me achieve my goal? *hmmmm*

I do have my porridge hiding under there somewhere! Nut butter is a new favourite at breakfast.

One of my favourite ways to treat myself. Choc chip ice cream! Mmmm.

Lancashire Life have not helped my food cravings this week. However, how beautiful does this meal look. Presentation always works for me!

Yummy breakfast goodness!
