I have gone bubbles!

Susie Lau Bubble is officially a huge inspiration of mine, I have done a few posts on her before regarding my fashion coursework. I have now come to the stage in my assignment where I can decide a garment inspired by her amazing style! Something which I have found challenging, exciting and alot of hard work. I cannot wait to construct my final design and show you all.

I use my sketchbook as a way to jot down any inspiration, doodles or important information I may need in the
future to refer back to. An important stage of my design process is to look at various different areas of inspiration, from street style to art exhibitions. This stage is extremely interesting! But if you search to far into things you can be surrounded by so much inspiration it can be hard to finalise ideas.

I love experimenting with mixed media! Paper and sewing machines are a perfect combo when it comes to creating something quirky inspired by Susie herself.

Collage is also something I really enjoy doing, it's a great way of using up any old scraps of newspapers and magazines you have left over, recycle and make something unique. Here I have used both newspaper and magazines, this gives the outcome of a two tone texture effect which turned out to be very successful and geometric inspired.

This whole process leads to alot of mess! My bedroom floor is an organised creative working area, it always suffers the consequences of critical creative thinking.

I find it more beneficial to work in the mornings as your brain is fresh and awake. Working in the mornings to complete work or start a new assignment is very productive.. Especially for me. I cherish half terms alot. In the morning I feel alot more motivated to tick things off my to-do list and get tasks done. This allows you to get all coursework out of the way at the start of the day, allowing the rest of the day for relaxing or making plans.

This year I need to focus on making sure I'm getting enough sleep and not staying up all night catching up on coursework - 100% attendance leads to deadlines being met and no stress.
Enjoy,

Jessica xo
